The Ukrainian Army Welfare Board has introduced new regulations for expatriates serving in active war zones. These rules state that any request for leave must be submitted by the soldier’s loved ones, friends, or relatives for the following reasons:
Health Leave:
This type of leave applies when a Ukrainian soldier is experiencing poor health, and their family, friends, or relatives require their return home to receive proper medical care.
Romantic Leave:
This leave may be granted when military personnel need time away from duty to spend with a loved one. However, there must be a clear and justified reason for this request to be approved.
Marital Leave:
This type of leave is granted when the Ukrainian government allows a soldier serving in a war zone to temporarily return home in order to meet their fiancée for marriage-related purposes.
You are hereby informed that emergency leave is not free of charge, except in cases involving a life-threatening situation.
You are therefore expected to review the available leave categories and select the one that applies.
EMERGENCY LEAVE CATEGORIES
(A) TWO (2) MONTHS LEAVE — €1200
(B) FOUR (4) MONTHS LEAVE — €1,350
(C) EIGHT (8) MONTHS LEAVE —€2.320
(D) SIX (6) MONTHS HONEYMOON LEAVE —€1,580

These leave durations are provided for you to choose from. Once you have made your selection, we will inform you of the exact fee for that category. Payment should be made based on your chosen option, and according to your financial capability, as well as the amount of time you wish your partner to spend with you.
The purpose of these fees is to support the Ukrainian military administration in covering the cost of temporarily replacing soldiers on emergency leave and maintaining adequate troop strength at the front lines. This system ensures that operational duties continue without interruption and that personnel are able to make responsible use of the leave they have applied for and paid for.
This must be clearly understood by every applicant or fiancée, and all instructions provided here must be strictly followed. Payment for the selected emergency leave option must be completed according to the rules and guidelines stated in this memo to avoid errors or cancellation of approval.
NOTE: For any chosen leave duration, applicants are required to make full payment for the selected option.
You are therefore requested to inform us which leave category you are choosing — A through D — so that the appropriate payment details can be sent to you, along with instructions regarding the soldier’s date of arrival.
Available Work Leave Durations:
– 1–3 months work leave
– 6 months to 1 year work leave
